I’m Dr. Maria Cronyn, a naturopathic physician with nearly 26 years of medical experience, blending conventional (allopathic) medicine with natural therapies to provide personalized, integrative mental health care. My maiden name is Herod—Hero with a D—maybe that gave me the desire to join the military and try to be heroic in my efforts. I’m also an adopted adult, a military veteran, and a passionate advocate for those navigating the deep emotional terrain of adoption, foster care, and human trafficking recovery.
My path into medicine was never just about science—it was a calling. Homeopathy, in particular, felt familiar the moment I discovered it, as if I’d practiced it in another life. I was on the verge of pursuing a PhD in psychology when I found naturopathic medicine—and I knew instantly this was my true path. Nothing matches homeopathy’s power to precisely match the individual's unique experience, especially in mental health. When used correctly, it can change lives—quickly, safely, and deeply.
I specialize in trauma-informed, adoption-literate mental health care. I understand the profound grief, fear of abandonment, and loss of identity that often underlie PTSD in adopted, fostered, or trafficked individuals. I’ve lived it, and I’ve dedicated my life to helping others heal from it. Homeopathy allows me to gently clear those initial emotional blocks—often grief and fear—so a person’s true self can emerge.
My approach is unique: I offer the full scope of medical care, including pharmaceuticals when necessary, but always supported by natural treatments—homeopathy, acupuncture, botanical medicine, and carefully chosen nutritional supplementation. I believe in treating the root cause, not just the symptoms.
I often say:
